Senior Jessica Neal placed first in the FCCLA State Leadership Conference, which was held March 26-28.

Neal earned her first place award in the Promote and Publicize category and advanced to the National Level Competition, where she will compete in Orlando in July.

Sophomore Shannon Whitfield placed second in the Job Interview category and was awarded a $500 scholarship. Cynabria Fuller, Tera Holloway, Dymond Mumford, and Sapphire Lawson were Silver medal winners in the Chapter Service Display category. Melidia Franklin was a Bronze medal winner in the Career Investigation category. Kinston High School received an additional award for adding 15-plus new members this year.

“Each member represented KHS and Lenoir County very well,” adviser Kamin Rogers said. “I am very proud.”
